What's On - Catch the Summer

Ipswich Twilight 10K Run will be taking place again this year on Friday 26th July 2024. There will be numerous road closures around the town centre from 1830hrs , until completion of the race. 

The following services will be affected during this time; 

Service 800 Park and Ride

From London Road follow usual route to West End Road, then via Handford Road, Civic Drive, Crown Street and then to Woodbridge Rd to resume usual route.

From Martlesham  follow usual route to Tower Ramparts then continue along Crown Street turning left on to Civic Drive and right on to Handford Road to resume route at end of West End Road.

Service 64

From Aldeburgh  follow usual route to St Helen’s Street, then via Grimwade Street, Fore Street, Key Street, College Street, Star Lane, Turret Lane to OCM.

Service 66

From Martlesham (18:25, 18:55, 19:30, 20:00) usual route to St Helen’s Street, then via Grimwade Street, Fore Street, Key Street, College Street, Star Lane, Turret Lane to OCM; then Turret Lane, Star Lane, Lower Orwell Street, Key Street, College Street, Grafton Way, Commercial Road, Princes Street to the Rail Station

From Rail Station  via Burrell Road towards Stoke Bridge, Bridge Street, Novotel Roundabout, Star Lane Turret Lane, OCM. Then via Turret Lane, Star Lane, Waterworks Street, Bond Street and St Margaret’s Street to Woodbridge Road, then as normal.

Services 75 & 77

From Felixstowe  usual route to St Helen’s Street, then via Grimwade Street, Fore Street, Key Street, College Street, Star Lane, Turret Lane to OCM.

From OCM –  from OCM via Turret Lane, Star Lane, Waterworks Street, Bond Street, and St Margaret’s Street to Woodbridge Road, then as normal.

Service 88

From Stowmarket usual route to Norwich Road, St Matthews Street, Civic Drive, Handford Road, Ranelagh Road, Burrell Road, Bridge Street, Star Lane, Turret Lane to OCM.

High Road Trimley St Martin will be closed Monday 29th July 2024 & Tuesday 30th July 2024 to allow Anglian Water Works to take place. 

Service 75 & 77 will therefore unfortunately have to divert via the A14 and Howlett Way in both directions.

Due to gas works taking place on Grove Road by the bus gate, the road will be closed from Monday 15th July to Friday 19th July continuously.

During this time, service 36B/38 will operate via Ipswich Road and along the full length of Cecil Road, omitting Trafford Road entirely.
Service 39 will continue down Hall Road to the junction with Queens Road, omitting Southwell Road entirely.

Passengers are encouraged to use nearby alternative stops where possible.

Due to delayed surface dressing work, the A1067 will be closed between Lenwade & Bawdeswell from 20:00 onwards on Monday 8th July, Monday 15th July & Tuesday 23rd July.

THIS CLOSURE WILL NOW BE TAKING PLACE ON TUESDAY 16TH, THURSDAY 18TH, TUESDAY 23RD & THURSDAY 25TH JULY.

We have no safe, approved diversion routes to use to avoid this closure within the timetable of this service, so services will unfortunately need to be curtailed along the route to avoid the closure.

The last bus between Norwich & Fakenham will be 18:00 from St Stephens Street.
The last bus between Norwich & Bawdeswell (on request) will be 19:20 from St Stephens Street.
The last bus between Norwich & Taverham will continue to be the 22:50 from St Stephens Street.

The last bus between Fakenham & Norwich will be the 19:25 from Oak Street.
The last bus between Taverham & Norwich will be 21:19, starting from Beech Avenue.

Bridge Street Beccles will be closed between 1000hrs & 1500hrs Thursday 8th August 2024 for Bridge Inspection works.

Journeys from Lowestoft will be diverted from Northgate right Bridge Street, left Ravensmere, Common Lane North, left George Westwood Way and left A146 to line of route. 

Journeys from Norwich will be diverted by  staying on A146 to Morrisons roundabout and turn right on to George Westwood Way. Turn right again onto Common Lane at Lidl (becomes Pound Road) and continue into Ravensmere and Newgate for the Tesco stop and resume usual route.

Gillingham will not be served during closures

THIS CLOSURE HAS ENDED EARLY. SERVICES ARE BACK TO NORMAL ROUTE.

Due to the installation of a new zebra crossing on Back Lane in Hethersett, our Pink & Green Line services will need to take a diversion route from Tuesday 28th May to Tuesday 30th July.

Both services from Norwich will operate their normal routes along Coachmaker Way & Churchfields, but will merge onto Coachmaker Way past the school & Co-op, then down Little Melton Road onto normal route into Hethersett.

Due to footway reconstruction work, our Red Line 24/24B services will be on diversion away from Hillcrest Road until Friday 19th July.

During this time, services will operate via Gordon Avenue & Thor Road.

Hall Lane  Dallinghoo will be closed between 0800hrs & 1700hrs on Thursday 18th July 2024.

Service 70 will be diverted between Charsfield and  the Pumping Station at Debach during this time.

Due to planned overnight carriageway works by National Highways, the A47 will be shut between Acle & Postwick Interchange, between 20:00 & 06:00 weekday evenings from Monday 1st July 2024 to Saturday 20th July 2024.

During this time, our Coastlink X1 service will need to take a diversion route - meaning that the stops at Acle, Kings Head will not be served.

Passengers wishing to travel from Acle in both directions should use the stop at The Street - our drivers have been instructed to serve this stop in both directions for the duration of this closure

The Street, Little Bealings has been closed for Anglian Water Works until Tuesday 15th October .

Service 59 and 972 School service will therefore be unable to use The Street and will have to divert through Playford Village and then back along Bealings Road and into Holly Road to pick up their line of route by the Village Hall
