A major project to carry out work at this junction and to resurface will commence on Friday 19th August and continue in several phases until Friday 2nd September 2022.

This will have significant impacts on our Orange Line services and Blue Line services as well as Costessey Park and Ride shuttles that serve the University of East Anglia.

Depending on the phase of works -

  • passengers may be unable to use service 21 to travel between Bowthorpe and Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital
  • passengers may be unable to use service 26 to travel between University of East Anglia and Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital
  • passengers may be unable to use service 26A to travel between University of East Anglia
  • some service 511 evening journeys may be re-timed or cancelled.

Passengers wishing to travel to and from Norfolk & Norwich Hospital should, where possible use Pink Line services to and from the City Centre. You can download the full timetable at this link - FEC - Network Norwich Pink Line 10 11 12 - Bus times from 24-07-22_2.pdf

Phase two will involve significant restrictions from Monday 22nd August until Friday 26th August.

These restrictions will be between 06:00 and 19:00 and will be in addition in addition to the overnight closures detailed above.

As a result the following changes to services will be in place -

  • All Orange Line services will operate to Three Score Road only. No journeys will be possible between Bowthorpe and Norfolk And Norwich University Hospital
  • All Blue line services 26 will operate to University of East Anglia only. Service 26A will operate to Bowthorpe only via a diversion route.
  • Service 511 will operate the usual route between Costessey Park & Ride to University of East Anglia.Returning to the site however the service will operate via Guardian Road and Dereham Road. Passengers should plan for a slightly longer journey and potentially some disruption to services.

Diversions for overnight closures will also be in place (see phase one)

There will be one further overnight closure as part of this phase of work on Saturday 27th August from 19:00 until 06:00 the following morning.

Services will divert as they did during phase one listed above.

All roads will open at 06:00 on the morning of Sunday 28th August and will remain open throughout the public holiday on Monday 29th August.

These closures will again be from 19:00 on each of these dates until 06:00 the following morning
