EV charging

Robert Thorburn - Scotland's Partnership Director, Openreach

“We are excited to try a new approach with First Bus that can potentially help both our businesses. As two major fleet operators in the UK, it makes sense for us to explore the most efficient ways to power up our electric vans and buses.

The surplus charging infrastructure and power available at our depot locations presents an opportunity to support local communities and businesses reach their own environmental aspirations.

Our charging infrastructure has futureproofed our ongoing EV acquisition, powering our fleet of buses overnight ahead of daily service.

This presents the opportunity for businesses to use this resource during the day, when our buses are out on the road.

Our commitment

With the increased focus on sustainability across the industry, we have made significant investments in our fleet and charging infrastructure to achieve our goal of a zero-emission fleet by 2035.

We are dedicated to providing cleaner, greener travel solutions not only through our own fleet but also by partnering with businesses to offer access to our network of over 200 chargers across our depots in Scotland.
