Service Changes from 5th January 2025

Our team is always working behind the scenes to keep your journeys in Norwich as hassle-free as possible.

From Sunday 5th January, we’re making some minor timetable tweaks to our Purple Line 39 and 37B, Charcoal Line 40, 41, and 41A, and Excel services between Dereham and Norwich. 
 

Purple Line 37B|39

The 39 and evening & Sunday 37B service will be rerouted in the Lakenham area, and will no longer run via the A146 and Cavell Road. The routes will instead use Mansfield Lane. This is due to the speed humps on Cavell Road causing damage to the underneath of our buses. An alternative service for residents living at the eastern end of Cavell Road will be provided. Charcoal Line 40|41|41A

The 40 will be rerouted between Queen's Road & Trowse Bypass to run via Long John Hill and City Road instead of County Hall and Bracondale. This is to provide an alternative service to residents of Cavell Road. Service 40A is unchanged.

All service 41 and 41A buses through Woodton will operate a one-way loop in a clockwise direction serving Hempnall Road (King's Head) first, then Short New Road, and finally Church Road. This is to avoid instances of buses travelling in opposite directions meeting on the narrow roads.

Excel A|B|C|D

There will be changes to the times of buses on Monday to Saturday between Dereham and Norwich only, with more peak time buses serving Easton. There are no alterations to the timetable between Dereham, King's Lynn, and Peterborough.

The 0800 service D from Dereham to Norwich will run as a service A via Easton. During the daytime, service D buses will leave Dereham at 15 minutes past the hour, forming a half hourly service when combined with service B which departs at 45 minutes past the hour. 

From Norwich, service D will depart at 30 minutes past the hour during the daytime, forming a half hourly service to Dereham when combined with service B, which departs on the hour. 

The 1620 Monday to Friday service D from Norwich will instead run as a service A, departing at 1630.
