The longest-serving driver with First Bus in York is finally stepping out from behind the steering wheel.
Ian McDonald, 70, is retiring after nearly 52 years with the company and its predecessors.
He joined the business when it was then West Yorkshire Roadcar in September 1974, long before deregulation of the bus industry in 1986.
Bradford Street, Braintree is closed for overnight roadworks from 25/03/2026 to 30/03/2026.

Blackburn Meadows has been closed by unannounced roadworks.
INBOUND services diverted via Bawtry Road, M1 J34S roundabout, Sheffield Road, Vulcan Road & Meadowhall Way.

Extensive road work will start on the 23 March for three months at the junction of Lake Road and Fratton Road.
Both bus lanes will be closed as well as the stops at the top of Lake Rad and Hanway road.
