Steve Draper has joined First Bus Franchising as Operations Director, bringing more than 30 years of leadership experience across the transport and manufacturing sectors.
Most recently, Steve served as Performance Director at Arriva, where he led initiatives across depot performance, driver recruitment and training, and operational excellence. His extensive expertise will play a key role in supporting First Bus as it delivers high-quality services in an evolving franchising landscape.
Airport Road,Hengrove(part) will be closed between 2000-0300 from Monday 14th September to 0300 on Saturday 26th September. This will affect service A4.
Service A4 towards Bristol Airport will operate normal route to Airport Road Bus Stop where they will divert onto Bamfield and Whitchurch Lane to resume normal route at Hengrove Way roundabout.
The following stops will be unable to be served:-Filwood Green Business Park and Hengrove Leisure Park
Wedgewood Road,Bath will be closed between 0800-1700 on Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th September. This will affect services 5 and U4.
Service 5 will operate normal route to Whiteway Circle then divert back along Haycombe Drive, onto Pennyquick and Newton Road resuming normal route at Redland Park.
The following stops will be unable to be served:-North Way to Pennard Court incl.
Please use either Whiteway Circle or Redland Park bus stops instead.
3 | The Common
The Common will be closed between 08:00 & 16:00 on 08/09/26.
Services to divert as follows:
To Southend via East Hanningfield Road, Southend Road, Rettendon Bell, East Hanningfield Road, Creephedge Lane, to the normal line of route.
To Chelmsford via Hyde Hall, Creephedge Lane, East Hanningfield Road, Main Road/Southend Road, line of route.
From 20 September, we'll be making some seasonal changes to timetables across Dorset for the winter months.
Most services will continue to operate throughout the winter, with some routes seeing changes to frequencies or running times. The 55 and X52 services will also be paused for the winter period.
Service 1 – Weymouth-Portland
Buses will continue to operate every 15 minutes, Monday to Sunday, maintaining the summer frequency.
Running times have been adjusted to reflect lower levels of traffic during the winter months.

Due to a closure on the above, services will divert as follows:
Towards Maldon via Tiptree High Street, Jam Factory Roundabout, return to the High Street, Factory Corner, onto B1022 to the normal line of route.
Towards Colchester via New Times Inn, Factory Corner, Jam Factory Roundabout and back to the line of route at the bottom of the High Street.
8 | Provanmill Road
To allow for lighting works on Monday 7th September until Friday 11th September, Provanmill Road will be closed at Langdale Street.
The following diversions will be in operation:
Towards Parkhead via Royston Road at Langdale Street, Provanmill Road, normal route.
Towards Partick via Provanmill Road at Langdale Street, Royston Road, normal route.
