Hawthorn Avenue, Colchester is closed for overnight roadworks on the 04/09/2026.

• This is a timed road closure: the road will be closed nightly between 20:00hrs and 05:00hrs.

Due to the location of the road closure - the 54 will divert via Hawthorn Avenue (Northbound), Bromley Road and Longridge. The following bus stop(s) will not be served:

3, U1 & U2 | Cambridge Road and Northside of roundabout

Update-This has now been extended until Tuesday 8th September

York Road will be closed Overnight 20:00-06:00 from Wednesday 2nd September until Saturday 6th September completing 06:00 on Saturday. This will affect service 44.

Service 44 towards Imperial Park normal route until Temple Meads will go round Bath Bridge Roundabout to divert down Clarence Road to resume normal route on Bedminster Parade.

The following bus stops will not able to be served: Spring Street.

Please use the stops at Temple Meads or Bedminster Parade instead.

Fortfield Road, Wharnecliffe Gardens (part), Whitchurch will be closed on Monday 14th September from 08:00 until 17:00 (estimated). This will affect service 45.

Service 45 normal route until Loxton Square continuing on New Fosseway Road diverting via Wells Road, Ridgeway Lane to resume normal route on Ridgeway Lane.

The following bus stops will not able to be served: Fortfield Road until Gilda Square West in both directions.

Please use the stops at Timberscombe Walk or Loxton Square instead in both directions.

Five Lane Ends will not be served after 18:00, please be advised that services will remain on the main road.

X51 & X52 | Lyme Road closed due to works

Services to Holt Park to divert via Victoria Road, Great Wilson Street, Meadow Lane, Leeds bridge, Lower Briggate, Duncan Street, New Market Street, Vicar Lane, Headrow, Albion Street to normal route.

Stirtingale Rd and Kingsway will be closed on Tuesday 8th September from 07:00 until 19:00. This will affect service 8.

Service 8 normal route until Oak Avenue diverting via Englishcombe Lane resuming normal route at Sladebrook Court. This will be in both directions.

The following bus stops will not able to be served: Stirtingale Avenue and Stirtingale Road in both directions.
