Service update was amended on 26/06/2024 | Reason for amendment: additional detail provided regarding 87 journeys not serving Wivenhoe.

The Avenue, Wivenhoe will be closed on a nightly basis for roadworks; from Monday 1st July to Friday 6th July 2024 - between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 the next morning.

Due to the location of the road closure, the S1, 74B and 87 services will be placed on diversion:

74B (to Clacton-on-Sea) and 87 (to Brightlingsea) 

Services 74B and 87* will divert, in both directions, via Rectory Road. The following bus stops will not be served:  

  • Wivenhoe Cross
  • Rosabelle Avenue
  • Co-op
  • Cemetery

*87 journeys that terminate at Wivenhoe, opp Co-op bus stop

The 87 journeys that terminate at Wivenhoe, opp Co-op bus stop will not be placed on diversion. The following journeys will terminate at adj South Courts bus stop and will not serve Wivenhoe:
