Stowmarket Town Centre (88)

Due to a major gas replacement scheme taking place across Bury Street, Tavern Street & Finborough Road between Monday 28th October & Friday 13th December - our Stowmarket Swift 87/87A & 88 will need to take diversion routes in two parts.

Part One (28th October to 8th November) of these works will mean that service 88 will serve the stop at Argos as normal, but will operate onto Bury Street, then onto Bury Road, St Edmunds Road, Windermere Road then as normal onto Onehouse Road, Chilton Way & Northfield View. Heading towards Ipswich, services will omit Bury Street and instead operate via Gipping Way to join normal route at Barnards.

Service 87/87A will instead move to depart from the Argos stop, as an alternative to the Bury Street stop.

On Gipping Way, a temporary stop will be in place at the cycle lane commencement road sign - just before the junction with Union Street West. Service 88 towards Ipswich will operate from here in lieu of Bury Street.

Part Two (11th November to 13th December) of these works will mean that service 88 will serve the stop at Argos as normal, but will operate onto Station Road West, then onto Bury Road, St Edmunds Road, Windermere Road then as normal onto Onehouse Road, Chilton Way & Northfield View. Towards Ipswich, services will be able to operate normal route into Bury Street and as a result, service 87/87A will operate as normal too.

On Monday 28th October from 19:00 onwards, Pink Line 11/11A/12 will be diverted due to a road closure of Sprowston Road between Denmark Road & Wall Road.

Services will operate via Constitution Hill & the outer Ring Road to resume normal route.

Due to CityFibre works on Burkitt Road in Woodbridge, Village Links 70 will need to divert between Saturday 26th October & Sunday 3rd November.

Services will operate via Naunton Road, Bullards Lane, Old Barrack Road & Warren Hill Road.

Due to resurfacing works, the N&N Hospital plaza will be closed from Monday 28th October to Thursday 31st October. 

During this time, the Hospital have provided temporary stops in the Staff Car Park for our buses to use, instead of Stand A/B in the Plaza.

Please see the map below for information on where services will be stopping at during this closure - as well as signage within the Hospital for further direction.

Due to remedial works taking place on the junction of Bluebell Road/Norvic Drive from 08:00 on 28th October to 17:00 on 30th October, Pink Line 10 will need to take a diversion route.

It will operate from the city as far as Daniels Road roundabout, then via Mile End Road, South Park Avenue, Pettus Road, Peckover Road & Rugge Drive to the terminus at the Leng Crescent stop. Towards the city, it will operate the above in reverse.

Due to CityFibre works taking place on Church Road in Great Plumstead between Friday 25th October & Friday 1st November, service 33/33A will be on diversion.

Services will operate directly along Norwich Road, either terminating at the Brick Kilns in Little Plumstead or continuing to/from Pilson Green.

This closure has now been cancelled due to conflicting emergency roadworks in the city centre.
Castle Meadow will REMAIN OPEN during the below dates.

Due to urgent replacement required of a BT chamber on Castle Meadow, the road will be closed from 19:00 on Friday 25th October until the end of service on Friday 1st November. 

During this time, all services will be unable to call at Castle Meadow - and will instead use their normal stands at alternative city centre stops.

For Pink, Turquoise, Green, Yellow, Purple & Charcoal Line services, plus services 31 & 33 - please use stops on St Stephens Street.
For Orange & Red Line services, plus service 30 - please use stops on Theatre Street/Rampant Horse Street.
For Blue Line services - please use the stops at Red Lion Street as normal, these will still be served.

Please expect delays on all services across the city during the closure, due to the diversion routes involved in avoiding this closure.

Due to Cadent gas works taking place on Laundry Lane in Thorpe St Andrew from Friday 25th October to Friday 1st November, our service 24/24B will need to operate via the 24A route - on South Hill Road, Booty Road & Pound Lane.

There will be three separate road closures in New & Old Costessey between Monday 28th October & Sunday 3rd November. This will affect Red Line 23/23A & 24B services - detailed below.

Monday 28th October to Friday 1st November - both Breckland Road & Richmond Road in New Costessey will be closed, leaving us with no viable alternative but to operate service 23 directly up Dereham Road. This will serve all stops on Dereham Road as an alternative for any affected customers.

Monday 28th October to Sunday 3rd November - Norwich Road in Old Costessey will be closed - meaning service 23A/24B will need to operate up Norwich Road as far as Kabin Road - and will then run non-stop from there to Roundwell Medical Centre via Norwich Road & Dereham Road.

Service 31 will operate the above diversion, but turn around using Richmond Road, East Hills Road & Longwater Lane to maintain a service to Roundwell Medical Centre stops.

We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause to your journey, as Old Costessey will once again lose all bus services.
We have tried working with the council to mitigate these works but unfortunately these works are all unavoidable and need to take place during the school holidays.

Due to National Highways project work taking place along the A47 between Hopton & Lowestoft on weekday nights only (20:00-06:00), our services will be on diversion between Monday 7th October & Friday 6th December. Please see the table below, which explains the different closures that will be in place as the project progresses. On top of the below diversions, please expect some delays due to these diversion routes and increased traffic levels on them.

Additionally, on the following dates - service X21 will be on diversion within Lowestoft.
Monday 14th October to Thursday 17th October - services will leave the town via Katwijk Way & Station Square.
Friday 18th October to Friday 25th October - services will enter the town via A47 & Gordon Road.
Friday 22nd November to Wednesday 27th November - services will enter & leave the town via the Gull Wing Bridge & Denmark Road.
