UPDATE - Wednesday 5th March 2025

We are pleased to confirm that thanks to urgent repairs being undertaken by Suffolk County Council Highways we have now been able to reinstate services 116 and 916 with immediate effect.

=================================================================================================================================

Due to multiple potholes and road surface deterioration on Stone Street between Coddenham and Crowfield we have experienced damage to several buses and are concerned that the comfort and safety of passengers is being compromised.

We have therefore taken the reluctant decision to divert our service 116 to omit this section of road until repairs to the road surface can be undertaken. We are working closely with Suffolk Highways and Suffolk Passenger Transport to ensure that road surface repairs are completed as quickly as possible.

This will also affect service 916, the schools service to Debenham High School.

Services towards Debenham will follow their usual route until Hemingstone Bridge and Lower Road. Buses will then do a loop of Rectory Road and Sandy Lane returning to the road near Coddenham Village stores. before returning towards Hemingstone Bridge and diverting via Stonewall Hill and Ipswich Road to resume the usual route at Debenham Road.

Services towards Ipswich will follow this route in the opposite direction.

The following stops will not be served -

  • School Road / Recreation Ground
  • Green Hill
  • Stone Street/Manor View

These diversions will be in place until work is carried out in Stone Street at which point services will return to their usual route.

We apologise for any inconvenience this causes to our passengers.
