First Norwich colleagues donate Christmas gifts to local Children’s Charity

Colleagues from bus operator First Norwich, have donated Christmas gifts to local children’s charity, The Hamlet.

The toys, games and books, donated by First Norwich employees at the Vulcan Road and Roundtree Way depots and offices located in the City centre, were delivered to The Hamlet Children’s Centre located in Johnson Place in Norwich.

First Norwich operates 140 buses in and around the City, and employs in the region of 500 people, including bus drivers, engineers and support staff.

The Hamlet provides essential support for children, young people and adults with disabilities and complex health needs in Norwich and across Norfolk.

Ellie Coulson, CEO of The Hamlet, said: ‘’The Hamlet is delighted to benefit from First Norwich’s Christmas toy drive. It is particularly meaningful in our 50th anniversary year to receive such generous support from another proudly local organisation with a long history of serving the citizens of Norwich and Norfolk.’’

Rachel Hirst, Employee Director at First Norwich, said: “Our people in Norwich really wanted to give something back to a local cause this Christmas, and when we heard about the important work that The Hamlet does across the county, we knew that we wanted to support them in any way we could.

“Our drivers, engineers and office support staff in Norwich have done a wonderful job gathering toys for the young people that The Hamlet supports, and I’d like to take this opportunity thank our people for their generosity.”
