The below changes, which will see improvements to the overall bus network in the West of England, are part of a bi-annual review of routes, and will come into effect from Sunday 31 August.

For a number of services, the timetable & route will not change - please refer to the unaffected routes drop-down list in each area for these services.

Park and Ride buses connecting commuters and shift workers to the first trains of the day began arriving at York station at 05:45am this morning (Monday 21 July). 

It is the first time Park and Ride services, run in partnership by First Bus and City of York Council, have operated this early and has been possible through funding by York’s Bus Service Improvement Plan, supported by the Department for Transport.

 Due to construction work on Thorncliffe Street, the following diversion is in place:

Services 22, Heading Towards Highbury Grove

Diverting via Hawthorn Crescent, right onto Chatsworth Avenue, right into Wembley Grove and left onto Hawthorn Crescent.

Due to emergency water works on Monday 21st July until Sunday 10th August, Jerviston Road will be closed towards Holytown only.

During the closure all stops will be observed and the following diversions will be in operation:

Service 242 towards Holytown

Normal route to Merry Street At Jerviston Road continuing through mini-roundabout (onto 254 route), left onto Merry Street (before bus stop on hill) left to Montalto Avenue continue to end of Montalto Avenue then right onto Jerviston Road to normal route. 

Due to resurfacing works on Sunday 27th July 09:00 until 21:00, Old Edinburgh Road will be closed at Sixth Street.

During the closure the following diversions will be in operation:

Service 240 towards Overtown

Normal route Glasgow Road at Old Edinburgh Road, left New Edinburgh Road, left Holmbrae Road, 2nd exit at Roundabout onto Old Edinburgh Road to normal route.

 Due to Woodhouse Hill closure, service to divert as follows:

Burst Water Mains at Laisterdyke. Services X6/72 will be diverting outbound towards Leeds only.

Services affected: X6, 72 and 620

Diversions as follows, until further notice: 
Via Killinghall Road, Thornbury Road and Leeds Road.

To allow for ironwork repairs on Sunday 27th July, Gartlea Road at Lady Wilson Street will be closed.

During the closure all stops will be observed and the following diversion will be in operation:

Services X1/X11/7:

Due to a breakdown on A47 towards Norwich, there is a lane closure. This is affecting the above services with delays of up to 30 minutes.

Service 1A:

Due to a breakdown, service will not depart Lowestoft at 10:15.

We are hoping to resume service at Hopton for 10:40

Service X11:

Due to a breakdown, service X11 at 12:45 will not be able to operate to Belton.
