U22 Free Travel Scheme

Led by The Scottish Government, young people in Scotland aged under 22 years old are entitled to free bus travel.

To access the scheme you must apply for a new National Entitlement Card (NEC) card.
Those aged between 5-15 must have a parent, guardian, or carer apply for a new NEC card on their behalf. Those aged between 16-21 should apply themselves.
It’s important that you apply for your new NEC Card in order to access the travel scheme, as old Young Scot Cards will not be accepted, and you will be required to pay your fare as normal.

Transport Scotland have launched a new application to help people aged 16-21 access free bus travel. This app allows those who have a Young Scot Entitlement Card (NEC) or non-Young Scot branded NEC, to transfer free bus travel onto their NEC card, without having to apply for a replacement card.

6 - Queensway East Bound

To allow for resurfacing on Wednesday 20th November 20:00 until Thursday 21st November 06:00 A726 Queensway East Bound will be closed.

During the closure, all stops will be observed and the following diversions will be in operation:

Service 6 towards Calderwood:
Normal route Queensway at West Mains Road and take 1st exit onto West Mains Road 2nd exit at roundabout West Mains Road 2nd exit at roundabout West Mains Road 3rd exit at roundabout onto Churchill Avenue to East Kilbride Bus Station normal route.

50 services - M8 J26-22 East Bound closure

To allow for motorway works M8 J26-22 East Bound will be closed.

19th November, 20:00 until 20th November, 06:00.

Services affected: 50

Services 201 240 N240, Motherwell Road

To allow for resurfacing works, Motherwell Road towards Motherwell will be closed.

23rd November until Sunday 24th November.

Services affected: 201 240 N240.

During the closure the following diversion will be in operation:

Services 201 240 N240 towards Motherwell:
Normal route to Motherwell Road at Crossgates, continue Motherwell Road, John Street, Thorn Road, Main Street, Calder Road and Bellshill Road.

5, 46, 75 services - Ardencraig Road/Castlemilk Drive

To allow for resurfacing works Ardencraig Road will be closed at Castlemilk Drive

22nd November between 08:00 until 18:00

Services affected: 5, 46, 75

During the closure all stops will be observed and the following diversions will be in operation:

Service 5 towards Osborne Street:
The normal route to Ardencraig Road at Castlemilk Drive left Castlemilk Drive to resume the normal route.

Service 46 & 75 towards Castlemilk:
The normal route to Castlemilk Drive at Ardencraig Road continues Castlemilk Drive, right Ardencraig Road to resume the normal route.

Service 46 & 75 from Castlemilk:
The Normal route to Ardencraig Road at Castlemilk Drive left Castlemilk Drive to resume normal route.

5, 6, 7, 7A, 21, 31, 75, 267 services - Gorbals Street

To allow for Road Works Gorbals Street will be closed to City.

24th November and 25th November, between 22:00 and 06:00 each night.

Services affected: 5, 6, 7, 7A, 21, 31, 75, 267.

During the closure all stops will be observed and the following diversions will be in operation:

Services 5, 6, 7, 7A towards City:
Normal route to Victoria Road via Butterbiggins Road, Cathcart Road, Laurieston Road, Ballater Road and Gorbals Street.

Services 21, 31, 75, 267 towards City:
Normal route to Cathcart Road via Cumberland Street, Laurieston Road, Ballater Road and Gorbals Street.

9, 9a, 10 services - Paisley Road

To allow for road works Paisley Road at Springfield Quay is closed on services towards City.

23rd November 19:00 until 24th November 03:00

Services affected: 9, 9A, & 10 to City only.

During the closure, the following diversion will be in operation:

Service 9, 9A, 10 towards City:
Paisley Road West at Seaward Street, Seaward Street, Scotland Street, West Street and Kingston Street.

City Centre Filming - M3, 3, 4, 4A, 6, 6A, 7, 7A, 60, 60A, 61, 75, 77

To allow for Filming in City Centre on Tuesday 19th November 18:00 until Thursday 21st November 08:00 several streets will be closed.

During the closure all stops will be observed and the following diversions will be in operation:

Services M3, 6, 6A, 7, 7A, 60, 60A, 61, 75. Diversion from Tuesday the 19th the November 18:00 until Wednesday the 20th of November 08:00 only.

Service M3: Normal Cambridge Street diversion route to Bath Street then Renfield Street, West Regent Street, West Nile Street, Cowcaddens Road back onto the normal route.

Services 6, 6A, 7, 7A, 60, 60A, 61, 75: (heading towards Cowcaddens) Divert via Hope Street, West Regent Street, West Nile Street and Cowcaddens Road onto the normal route.

Services 3, 4, 4A, 18, 77. Diversion is from Tuesday the 19th of November 18:00 until Thursday the 21st of November 08:00.

Services 3, 4, 4A: (towards City) Normal route to Hope Street at St Vincent Street left St Vincent Street, right Douglas Street, left Bath Street normal route.

Service 18: (towards Douglas Street) Normal route to St Vincent Street then at Hope Street, St Vincent Street, Douglas Street to terminus.

Service 77: (towards Partick) Normal route to Bath Street then Renfield Street, St Vincent Street, Douglas Street, Bath Street normal route.

201 - South Circular Road

Service 201 - South Circular Road Coatbridge South Bound.

To allow for resurfacing works on Sunday 24th November 08:00 until 20:00 South Circular Road South Bound will be closed.

During the closure all stops will be observed and the following diversions will be in operation:

Service 201 towards Petersburn.

Diverting via Bank Street at South Circular Roundabout, Sunnyside Road, Sunnyside Road, Dunbeth Road, South Circular Road, to circle the roundabout back onto South Circular Road and onto normal route.

No service to operate under West Canal Street bridge.

201, 226, 227, 255, 263, 267, N267, U1 - Union Street Hamilton South Bound

To allow for emergency Gas Works on Wednesday 13th November 09:30 until Wednesday 4th December Union Street Hamilton will be closed South Bound only.

During the closure all stops will be observed and the following diversions will be in operation:

Services 263 267 U1. towards Hamilton.

Normal route Burnbank Road at Almada Street, Almada Street, Muir Street, Palace Grounds, Blackswell Lane, Low Patrick Street, Duke Street, Brandon Street to Hamilton Bus Station.

Service 201 towards Hamilton.

Normal route Burnbank Road, Almada Street, Muir Street, Palace Grounds, Motherwell Road to normal route.

Service 226 towards Hamilton.

Normal route Burnbank Road, Almada Street, Muir Street, Palace Grounds, Blackswell Lane, Low Patrick Street, Duke Street, Quarry Street to normal route.

Service 255 towards Hamilton.

Normal route Bothwell Road, Muir Street, Palace Grounds, Blackswell Lane, Low Patrick Street, Duke Street, Brandon Street to Hamilton Bus Station.

Service 227 towards Hamilton.

Normal route Douglas Street, Almada Street, Muir Street, Palace Grounds, Blackswell Lane, Low Patrick Street, Duke Street, Brandon Street, Brandon Street to Hamilton Bus Station.

Service N267 towards Hamilton.

Normal route Burnbank Road, Almada Street, Muir Street, Palace Grounds, Blackswell Lane, Low Patrick Street, Duke Street, Quarry Street normal route.

Castlemilk Drive - 34

To allow for resurfacing works on Sunday 17th November until Friday 22nd November Castlemilk Drive will be closed.

During the closure the following diversions will be in operation:

Service 34 towards Castlemilk.

Diverting via Castlemilk Drive at Ardencraig Road, Ardencraig Road, Ardencraig loop and normal route.

Service 34 towards Battlefield.

Diverting via Ardencraig Road at Castlemilk Drive, Ardencraig Road Round Loop, Castlemilk Drive and normal route.
