New fares from 1 January 2025

Following the government’s announcement earlier this year that it was raising its fare cap from £2 to £3 in the new year, some of our fares are changing on Wednesday 1st January.

For those of you who travel up to six miles (including all journeys in the Bristol, Bath and Weston-super-Mare zones) the cost of an adult single fare will be £2.40 – 20% less than the government cap. For those travelling over six miles in the West of England zone the cost will be £3.

Not sure which zones you'll be travelling in? Take a look at our Fare Zone Maps.

The cost of a child single ticket will remain at £1 for travel anywhere in the West of England region, and the cost of our single town fares for adults in Clevedon, Nailsea, Portishead, Thornbury, Yate and Frome will remain at £1.80.

We are also making changes to day and season ticket prices, and to adult, student, young person and child fares. Please check out our fares guide for details of what is changing.

Also, don’t forget our Tap On, Tap Off readers are the best and quickest way to pay for your bus travel. Over half of our customers use it, and that number continues to grow. It’s really simple – you just tap the same bank card or device on an on-board payment reader when you get on and off the bus, and we’ll do the calculation for you, ensuring you get the best value fare each time you travel – including a cap on your daily and weekly costs. It really is the quickest and most cost-effective way to travel.
