Bristol Beacon
Win tickets to the Beacon's first Green Gig; Erland Cooper
This concert marks a step towards more sustainable live music experiences as part of Bristol Beacon's roadmap to net zero.
What is a Green Gig?
"The event will implement initiatives to reduce energy, waste & water use - including using in-house tech equipment to reduce delivery transport, no plastic bottles or single-use plastic in venue, minimal use of hazers whilst ensuring high production value, and locally sourced, meat-free artist riders. We are procuring green energy for the venue, helped by the nearly 350 solar panels on our roof. We will also be encouraging sustainable audience travel to this event. You can help by choosing to travel by bus, train, bicycle or on foot, and we'll give you 20% off a drink at our bars to say thank you. Ticket holders will receive 30% off Bristol day passes thanks to First Bus."
To celebrate the start of this initiative, we're giving away 2 x tickets to see Erland Cooper at Bristol Beacon on the 29th November and 2 x West of England Day tickets so you can get the bus there for free too!

First Bus x Bristol Beacon Partnership
We're thrilled to be working the Bristol Beacon, to encourage sustainable travel to their venue.
“A key part of the transformation of Bristol Beacon is to use it as an opportunity to become a more sustainable organisation. We know there are many reasons that our visitors aren’t always able to travel here sustainably, including cost, so it’s fantastic to be able to take these steps that will remove some of the barriers and make it easier for people to travel by bus.”
- Rosa Corbishley, Development Director & Sustainability Lead, Bristol Beacon
Transformation of Bristol Beacon
Over the last 5 years, Bristol Beacon has undergone a massive transformation, with extensive renovations across the entire building. The aim was to create a vibrant and welcoming space for all visitors to enjoy music, arts, and cultural events. The performance spaces have been modernized with upgrades to the acoustics and they've also been made more accessible. The building's cellars are in use for the first time and have been repurposed as education and performance spaces.
How To Get There
We have lots of bus services which stop in the City Centre, which is just a few minutes walk from the Beacon.
We recommend downloading the First Bus app, so you can plan your journey & find out the best way to get there by bus. You can find our route maps here.
