Union Street closed 4th & 11th February from 10am-10pm

Union Street will be closed between Market Street and Union Terrace in both directions between 10:00 and 22:00 on 04 February and also on 11 February. Services will divert as follows:

Services 1, 2, 11, 11A, 17A, 19, 23 & 172 travelling from Castle Street/Broad Street will divert from the traffic lights at Market Street as follows;

  • Left on to Market St
  • Right on to Guild Street
  • Along Guild Street, on to Bridge Street
  • Back on to Union Street to resume normal service. 

Services 1, 2, 11, 11A, 17A, 19, 23, & 172 travelling from the Music Hall, to Broad Street/Castle Street will divert as follows from Bridge Street traffic lights;

  • Right on to Bridge St
  • Round on to Wapping St, and left on to Guild St. 
  • On to Market Street and right on to Union Street where normal service will resume.

Services 1B & 20 from Guild St, travelling to Dubford/Hillhead will operate as follows from Guild St;

  • Right on to Wapping St, following the one-way system back round to Guild St
  • Left to Market St, and right on to Union St before resuming normal service. 

The following stopping arrangements will be observed during these diversions;

Services 1, 2, 11, 11A, 19, 23 & 172 travelling towards the Music Hall will serve the following stops during this time;

  • Market Street (Wilson’s bar) M10
  • Bridge Street E1
  • Music Hall
  • 11,11A & 23: Adelphi G6 & Union Street C4 (15,19 stop)
  • 17A & 172: Adelphi G5 & Union Street C5
  • 19: Market Street (Wilson’s bar) M10 & Union Street C4
  •  

Services 1, A1B, 2, 11, 11A, 17A, 19, 20, 23, & 172 travelling towards Broad Street/Castle Street will serve the following stops during this time;

  • 1 & 2: Music Hall C4, Bridge Street (Temp stop beyond 12 stop E3) & Market Street (Temp Stop)
  • 11,11A: Union Street (Lakeland) & Market Street (Temp stop)
  • 23: Music Hall, Bridge Street (Temp stop beyond 12 stop E3) & Adelphi G3
  • 17A,172: Union Street (Lakeland) & Adelphi G1
  • 19: Union Street (Lakeland) & Market Street (Temp Stop)
  • 1B: Guild Street SMH M3 , Market Street (Temp Stop)
  • 20: Guild Street SMH M3 , Adelphi G2
