Worcester Carnival closures and diversions 6 July 2024

Worcester Carnival takes place on Saturday 06 July in Worcester City Centre with many roads closed including Worcester Bridge, The Butts, Sansome Street, City Walls Road, Deansway, College Street, Castle Street and Foregate Street. This means all services running in and out of Worcester City Centre will be starting/terminating in different locations between 1430 and 1700 on this date.
Crowngate Bus Station will be CLOSED between 1430 and 1700 – no services will arrive or depart from here between these times. We are advised that the road may re-open in places earlier than 1700 – if this does occur, we will return to normal route as soon as we can.

X50 | Services towards Evesham at 1510 and 1610 will start from Sidbury. Service towards Worcester arriving between 1430 and 1700 will use London Road, then Battenhall Road, Timberdine Avenue and Bath Road to terminate in Sidbury. City Walls Road, St. Nicholas’ Street, Crowngate Bus Station and the Cathedral bus stops will not be served. |

The 1530 departure from Crowngate Bus Station to Royal Hospital will start from St. George’s Square bus stop on Barbourne Road. The 1455 arrival into Crowngate from the Royal Hospital will terminate on The Tything. Foregate Street and Little London will not be served on both mentioned journeys. SERVICE 144 – Departures from Crowngate will be as follows;

675/676 | unaffected by this closure and can operate normal route subject to any other diversions in place at the time. |
Diamond 294/296 | services will start/terminate at river layby on the West of the City. |
Diamond 303 | service will terminate on The Tything, and restart at Checketts Lane, Ombersley Road towards Kidderminster. |
There will be extra staff on hand at Lowesmoor, river layby in St. John’s and in Crowngate to answer customer questions. These are approximate timings to close and re-open roads given to us by Worcestershire County Council in co-ordination with Worcester Carnival and are subject to change at very short notice. All on the day communications will be done via X through Customer Services when roads close/re-open.
At the time of writing we have no information on services operated by Astons Coaches [332], Diamond [149], LMS Travel [21/24/423/356] or Kev’s Coaches [355].
