Every question has a number of possible answers, and every question has a ‘prefer not to say’ option too – so if you aren’t comfortable answering certain question, you can use this option to move on to the next question.

The Our First Bus Census is a campaign to help us to better understand and support our colleagues and identify ways in which we can make First Bus a more diverse and inclusive place to work.

The link to the Our First Bus Census will be available from the 18th November 2022.

If you are struggling to complete the form or have any queries, and these aren’t answered in these Frequently Asked Questions, please speak with your manager or your Trade Union Learning Rep who will be happy to support or send an email to diversityandinclusion@firstbus.co.uk .

The form is easy to access and complete, super straightforward and every question has answers for you to select. If should only take 5 minutes at the most to complete. You can either scan the QR code using your smart device/phone's camera or enter https://bit.ly/OurFirstBusCensus into a web browser. If you need help, please do just ask.

You are also welcome to use the Lifelong Learning Centre's across our business where the Trade Union Learning Reps would be happy to support you in completing the census.

Collecting information from you will help us get an accurate picture of the diversity and inclusion of First Bus. In addition, understanding more about you and all our colleagues at First Bus will help us ensure you are considered and ‘counted in’ at First Bus when making decisions.

 Yes. You will have access to the form from any computer or mobile device and may complete the survey from any location you choose.

No. Whilst completing the Our First Bus Census is entirely voluntary, we would really encourage you to take part to give an accurate picture of our workplace.

You can make corrections by logging in to PDS and updating your personal data. It may take up to one week for what you complete on your form to appear in your PDS profile, so please allow this time before editing in your PDS profile.

The personal data we are collecting from you during this census will be used to better understand and support our colleague community and identify ways in which we can make First Bus a more diverse and inclusive place to work.

Yes, you can update your response in PDS at anytime.

The Our First Bus Census is a one-off campaign to get us in a better data position quickly! Any colleague can edit the data we hold in PDS at anytime.

Your personal data will be saved on your PDS profile and available to edit at any time. We will use this data to better understand and support our colleague community and identify ways in which we can make First Bus a more diverse and inclusive place to work. Is First Bus legally allowed to collect this information?

Yes, as long as we adhere to the correct policies and processes as required by data protection law – which of course we do!

The Our First Bus Census will take less than 5 minutes to complete and needs to be done completed in one session.

We start with your first name, last name and date of birth. This is important so we can make sure the answers you provide are saved to your profile in PDS. Then the remaining questions are demographic information, such as sex, gender identity, disability, race, and sexual orientation. We also ask about your social mobility in order to understand whether there are other factors affecting which may be affecting your experience at First Bus. Every question has the option to ‘prefer not to say’ if you do not want to answer that specific question.

Absolutely not. Only a small number of data analysts have access to this data (to make sure it all gets saved correctly) and we will never share this data with your name against it. First Bus respect and protect everyone’s privacy and comply with all data protection laws.

Clock Change

End of British Summertime.

At 02:00hrs on Sunday 30th October, the clocks will go back 1 hour to mark the end of British summertime.

Overnight road closures in Redlands Lane on the 26 October from 1900 to 0600 on the 27 October. These works mean the E1 E2 and 9/9A will divert from Palmerston Drive direct to Fareham town Centre via the A32.
This diversion is in both direction and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused during this overnight closure.

on Thursday 27th October, Friday 28th October & Saturday 29th October between 15:45hrs and 23:00hrs each evening various streets within Paisley Town Centre will close.
