Commemorative events will be taking place Sunday 13th November 2022 - during this time there will be rolling road closures throughout Essex.

Our bus services will be diverting as follows:

Brentwood

37: Brentwood High Street will be closed between the hours of 10:00 - 11:00. During this time, buses will divert (in both directions) via Weald Road, Western Road, William Hunter Road and Ongar Road.

80A/80C: Service 80A/80C will be unable to serve Shenfield Road, between the junction of Hutton Road and Brentwood High Street. The closest bus stop between the hours of 10:00 - 11:00 will be Brentwood Rail Station bus stop and The Green Dragon bus stop.

351: Service 351 will be unable to serve Shenfield Road, between the junction of Hutton Road and Brentwood High Street. The closest bus stop between the hours of 10:00 - 11:00 will be Brentwood Rail Station bus stop and The Green Dragon bus stop.

Chelmsford

370/70: The Street, Little Waltham will be closed between the hours of 10:00 - 11:30. Buses will not be able to pick-up/drop-off on The Street during this time. The closest bus stop will be Ash Tree Corner bus stop for pick-ups and drop-offs.

42A: Chelmsford Road, Great Waltham will be closed for 2 time slots 10:35 - 10:50 and 11:40 -12:00. Buses will not be able to pick-up/drop-off on Chelmsford Road during this time. The closest bus stop will be Crowbush House bus stop for pick-ups and drop-offs.

42A/X30: Great Dunmow High Street will be closed between the hours of 10:00 - 11:30. Buses will not be able to pick-up/drop-off on Great Dunmow High Street during this time. The closest bus stops will be Queen Victoria, Stortford Road bus stop or Gate House Villas, Chelmsford Road bus stop for pick-ups and drop-offs.

Duke Street, Victoria Road South and Market Road will be closed between the hours of 10:00 - 12:00.

Service C9 will be unable to serve Victoria Road, Rail Station bus stop between the hours of 10:00 - 12:00. The closest bus stop will be Ship, Broomfield Road bus stop for pick-ups and drop-offs (in both directions).

All other Chelmsford City centre services will be able to access Duke Street bus station, Cathedral Walk and Tindal Square during the closure. Services will therefore divert via Coval Lane or The Ship, Broomfield Road bus stop.

Witham

371: Newland Street, Witham (between Collingwood Road and The Avenue) will be closed between the hours of 10:00 - 11:30. Buses will (divert in both directions) via Maldon Road and The Grove before returning to normal line of route.

Please note. First Essex is offering FREE bus travel on Remembrance Sunday (13th November 2022) to serving and ex-service personnel and Veterans attending commemorative events.

To claim free travel, passengers will need to wear their uniform, medals or will be asked to show their military ID card when boarding the bus.

Our drivers may also pull over to honour the two-minute silence at 11:00hrs on Remembrance Sunday (13th November 2022) where it is safe for them to do so.

Lest We Forget

Service C4 | Beeches Road, Chelmsford | Road closure

Beeches Road, Chelmsford will be partially closed (between the junctions of Waterhouse Lane and Ravensbourne Drive) for overnight roadworks on Tuesday 2nd July, Wednesday 3rd July and Thursday 4th July 2024 (between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 the next morning).

Due to the location of the road closure; the C4 service will be placed on diversion:

Towards Writtle

The C4 service will divert via Waterhouse Lane, Forest Drive and Ravensbourne Drive before returning to normal line of route on Beeches Road.

Towards Chelmsford

The C4 service will divert via Ravensbourne drive, Beeches Road and Forest Drive before returning to normal line of route on Waterhouse Lane.

The following bus stops will not be served (in both directions):

Service 81/81A | Crown Street, Dedham | Road closure

Crown Street, Dedham will be closed for daily roadworks from Tuesday 9th July to Thursday 11th July 2024 (starting at 09:30hrs and ending at 14:30hrs each day).

Due to the location of the road closure, the 81/81A service will be placed on diversion:

To Dedham

The following journeys will divert via Ardleigh Road and Long Road West before terminating at Duck Lane, Dedham Heath bus stop. The bus will wait time and then resume journey back to Colchester City Centre*.

North Hill, Colchester will be closed for roadworks, on a nightly basis, from Tuesday 9th July to Saturday 13th July 2024 - from 20:00hrs each night to 06:00hrs the next morning.

Due to the location of the roadworks multiple Colchester services will be placed on diversion:

ALL Colchester services | Queen Street, Colchester | Emergency road closure

Queen Street, Colchester has been closed for emergency roadworks (from today) Wednesday 26th June 2024 and scheduled to finish by end of day Wednesday 3rd July 2024.

Due to the location of the roadworks multiple Colchester services will be placed on diversion:

S1 - towards Colchester City Centre. This service will divert via Middleborough, Balkerne Hill and Southway before returning to normal line of route on Military Road. The following bus stops will not be served: Angel Court and Queen Street.

S2 - towards Colchester City Centre. This service will divert via Middleborough, Balkerne Hill and Southway before returning to normal line of route on Osborne Street. The following bus stop will not be served: High Street.

S3 - towards Colchester City Centre. This service will divert via Middleborough, Balkerne Hill and Southway before returning to normal line of route on Military Road - where this service changes to an S9 to Rowhedge*. The following bus stops will not be served: High Street and Angel Court.

S4 - towards Greenstead. This service will divert via Stanwell Street and Southway before returning to normal line of route on Magdalen Street. The following bus stops will not be served: Head Street, High Street and Queen Street.

S6/S7 - towards Colchester City Centre. These services will divert via Southway and Osborne Street. At this point these services will switch from S6/S7 to the S8 service**.

S8 - towards Monkwick**. This service will commence from Osborne Street and will divert via Stanwell Street and Southway before returning to normal line of route on Mersea Road***.

***Journeys that start from Colchester General Hospital will divert via Middleborough, Balkerne Hill and Southway before returning to normal line of route on Mersea Road. The following bus stops will not be served: Angel Court and Queen Street.

S9 - towards Rowhedge*. This journey will commence from Military Road.

S10 - towards Colchester General Hospital. This service will divert via Stanwell Street, Southway, Magdalen Street and Brook Street before returning to normal line of route on East Hill. The following bus stops will not be served: Head Street, The George, Grey Friars and The Surgery.

4 - This service will divert, in both directions, via East Hill, Brook Street and Magdalen Street. All bus stops will be served as normal.

X20 - towards Stansted Airport. This service will divert via Middleborough, Balkerne Hill and Southway before returning to normal line of route on Osborne Street. The following bus stop will not be served: High Street.

X70 - towards Colchester. This service will divert via Southway to reach Osborne Street terminus. The following bus stops will not be served: Head Street and High Street.

80 | 80A - towards Colchester. These services will divert via Middleborough, Balkerne Hill and Southway before returning to normal line of route on Osborne Street. The following bus stop will not be served: High Street.

81 | 81A - towards Colchester. These services will divert via Middleborough, Balkerne Hill and Southway before returning to normal line of route on Osborne Street. The following bus stop will not be served: High Street.

82 | 82A | 82B - towards Colchester. These services will divert via Southway to reach Osborne Street terminus. The following bus stops will not be served: Head Street, High Street and Queen Street.

83 - towards Colchester. This service will divert via Southway to reach Osborne Street terminus. The following bus stops will not be served: Head Street, High Street and Queen Street.

87 - towards Horkesley Heath. This service will divert via Brook Street and Magdalen Street. The following bus stops will not be served: opp The Surgery and Greyfriars.

88 | 88A | 88B - towards Colchester. These services will divert via Southway to reach Osborne Street terminus. The following bus stops will not be served: Head Street and High Street.

104 - This service will divert, in both directions, via East Hill, Brook Street and Magdalen Street. All bus stops will be served as normal.

320 - towards Colchester. This service will divert via Southway to reach Osborne Street terminus. The following bus stops will not be served: Head Street and High Street.

371 | 372 | 71 | X71 - towards Colchester. These services will divert via Southway to reach Osborne Street terminus. The following bus stops will not be served: Head Street and High Street.

Service 88 | Ronald Road, Halstead | Road closure

Ronald Road, Halstead will be closed for daily roadworks from Monday 8th July to Tuesday 16th July 2024 (from 09:30hrs to 15:30hrs each day).

Due to the location of the road closure, the 88 service will divert via White Horse Avenue.

The following bus stops will not be served:

Services 11-68-80/80A-S1-S2 | Northern Approach Road, Colchester | Road closure

Northern Approach Road, Colchester will be closed for roadworks on a nightly basis from Monday 1st July to Saturday 13th July 2024 (between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 (the next morning)).

Services 11, 68, 80/80A, S1 and S2 will be permitted through the road closure.

However, please note: there may be slight delays to service as the bus might be required to wait for an operative to escort them through the closure.

Service 570 | Station Road, Little Dunmow | Road closure

Service update was amended on 27/06/2024 | Reason for amendment: Route of diversion revised.

Station Road, Little Dunmow will be closed for works from Monday 24th June to Friday 12th July 2024.

Due to the location of the road closure, the 570 service will be placed on diversion:

Towards Colchester

Service 570 will divert, after serving Homelye Chase bus stop, via Braintree Road/Dunmow Road (B1256), Braintree Road (B1417) and Station Road before turning onto Tanton Road, Flitch Green. Passengers can board the bus on Tanton Road, Flitch Green. The bus will then continue journey back towards Felsted.

The next bus stop will be Mill Road bus stop.

Towards Great Dunmow

Service 570 will divert, after serving Mill Road bus stop, via Tanton Road, Flitch Green. Passengers can disembark the bus on Tanton Road, Flitch Green. The bus will continue journey back towards Felsted.

The next bus stop will be Homelye Chase bus stop.

The following bus stops will not be served (in both directions):

Service update was amended on 26/06/2024 | Reason for amendment: additional detail provided regarding 87 journeys not serving Wivenhoe.

The Avenue, Wivenhoe will be closed on a nightly basis for roadworks; from Monday 1st July to Friday 6th July 2024 - between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 the next morning.

Due to the location of the road closure, the S1, 74B and 87 services will be placed on diversion:

Service 4 will serve bus stops on Straight Road, James Carter Road and Newcastle Avenue before being placed on diversion.

Service 4 will divert (past Dugard Avenue) via Straight Road and London Road (A1124) before circumnavigating roundabout (located by Costa Coffee) and returning back along London road (A1124) and arriving at terminus - Sainsburys Store (Stand 1). The service will be paused before recommencing at next timetabled departure. The following bus stops will not be served:

The A120, between Bishops Stortford and Braintree will be closed for works, on a nightly basis, from Monday 24th June to Monday 2nd September 2024 - from 20:00hrs each night to 06:00hrs the next morning.

Due to the location of the roadworks the X20 service will be placed on diversion:

Towards Stansted Airport

The X20 service will divert, after serving adj Tortoiseshell Way bus stop, via Pod's Brook Road, Rayne Road, The Street, Dunmow Road, B1256, B1008, Stortford Road, B1256 and Parsonage Road before returning to normal line of route.

Towards Colchester

The X20 service will divert via Parsonage Road, B1256, Stortford Road, B1008, B1256, Dunmow Road, The Street, Rayne Road and Pod's Brook Road before returning to normal line of route at opp Tortoiseshell Way bus stop.

The following bus stops will not be served, in both directions, whilst service is placed on diversion:
