Beeches Road, Chelmsford will be partially closed (between the junctions of Waterhouse Lane and Ravensbourne Drive) for overnight roadworks on Tuesday 2nd July, Wednesday 3rd July and Thursday 4th July 2024 (between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 the next morning).

Due to the location of the road closure; the C4 service will be placed on diversion:

The C4 service will divert via Waterhouse Lane, Forest Drive and Ravensbourne Drive before returning to normal line of route on Beeches Road.

Towards Chelmsford

The C4 service will divert via Ravensbourne drive, Beeches Road and Forest Drive before returning to normal line of route on Waterhouse Lane.

Queen Street, Colchester has been closed for emergency roadworks (from today) Wednesday 26th June 2024 and scheduled to finish by end of day Wednesday 3rd July 2024.

Due to the location of the roadworks multiple Colchester services will be placed on diversion:

S1 - towards Colchester City Centre. This service will divert via Middleborough, Balkerne Hill and Southway before returning to normal line of route on Military Road. The following bus stops will not be served: Angel Court and Queen Street.

S2 - towards Colchester City Centre. This service will divert via Middleborough, Balkerne Hill and Southway before returning to normal line of route on Osborne Street. The following bus stop will not be served: High Street.

S3 - towards Colchester City Centre. This service will divert via Middleborough, Balkerne Hill and Southway before returning to normal line of route on Military Road - where this service changes to an S9 to Rowhedge*. The following bus stops will not be served: High Street and Angel Court.

S4 - towards Greenstead. This service will divert via Stanwell Street and Southway before returning to normal line of route on Magdalen Street. The following bus stops will not be served: Head Street, High Street and Queen Street.

S6/S7 - towards Colchester City Centre. These services will divert via Southway and Osborne Street. At this point these services will switch from S6/S7 to the S8 service**.

S8 - towards Monkwick**. This service will commence from Osborne Street and will divert via Stanwell Street and Southway before returning to normal line of route on Mersea Road***.

***Journeys that start from Colchester General Hospital will divert via Middleborough, Balkerne Hill and Southway before returning to normal line of route on Mersea Road. The following bus stops will not be served: Angel Court and Queen Street.

S9 - towards Rowhedge*. This journey will commence from Military Road.

S10 - towards Colchester General Hospital. This service will divert via Stanwell Street, Southway, Magdalen Street and Brook Street before returning to normal line of route on East Hill. The following bus stops will not be served: Head Street, The George, Grey Friars and The Surgery.

4 - This service will divert, in both directions, via East Hill, Brook Street and Magdalen Street. All bus stops will be served as normal.

X20 - towards Stansted Airport. This service will divert via Middleborough, Balkerne Hill and Southway before returning to normal line of route on Osborne Street. The following bus stop will not be served: High Street.

X70 - towards Colchester. This service will divert via Southway to reach Osborne Street terminus. The following bus stops will not be served: Head Street and High Street.

80 | 80A - towards Colchester. These services will divert via Middleborough, Balkerne Hill and Southway before returning to normal line of route on Osborne Street. The following bus stop will not be served: High Street.

81 | 81A - towards Colchester. These services will divert via Middleborough, Balkerne Hill and Southway before returning to normal line of route on Osborne Street. The following bus stop will not be served: High Street.

82 | 82A | 82B - towards Colchester. These services will divert via Southway to reach Osborne Street terminus. The following bus stops will not be served: Head Street, High Street and Queen Street.

83 - towards Colchester. This service will divert via Southway to reach Osborne Street terminus. The following bus stops will not be served: Head Street, High Street and Queen Street.

87 - towards Horkesley Heath. This service will divert via Brook Street and Magdalen Street. The following bus stops will not be served: opp The Surgery and Greyfriars.

104 - This service will divert, in both directions, via East Hill, Brook Street and Magdalen Street. All bus stops will be served as normal.

Northern Approach Road, Colchester will be closed for roadworks on a nightly basis from Monday 1st July to Saturday 13th July 2024 (between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 (the next morning)).

Services 11, 68, 80/80A, S1 and S2 will be permitted through the road closure. 

However, please note: there may be slight delays to service as the bus might be required to wait for an operative to escort them through the closure.

Service 570 will divert, after serving Homelye Chase bus stop, via Braintree Road/Dunmow Road (B1256), Braintree Road (B1417) and Station Road before turning onto Tanton Road, Flitch Green. Passengers can board the bus on Tanton Road, Flitch Green. The bus will then continue journey back towards Felsted.

The next bus stop will be Mill Road bus stop.

Towards Great Dunmow

Service 570 will divert, after serving Mill Road bus stop, via Tanton Road, Flitch Green. Passengers can disembark the bus on Tanton Road, Flitch Green. The bus will continue journey back towards Felsted.

The next bus stop will be Homelye Chase bus stop.

The following bus stops will not be served (in both directions):

• Braintree Road
• The Flitch of Bacon
• The Moors
• Bramble Lane
• Baynard Avenue
• Tanton Road (bus stop located on Station Road)

Due to the location of the road closure, the 4 service will be placed on diversion:

Towards Stanway

Service 4 will serve bus stops on Straight Road, James Carter Road and Newcastle Avenue before being placed on diversion.

Service 4 will divert (past Dugard Avenue) via Straight Road and London Road (A1124) before circumnavigating roundabout (located by Costa Coffee) and returning back along London road (A1124) and arriving at terminus -  Sainsburys Store (Stand 1). The service will be paused before recommencing at next timetabled departure. The following bus stops will not be served:

The X20 service will divert via Parsonage Road, B1256, Stortford Road, B1008, B1256, Dunmow Road, The Street, Rayne Road and Pod's Brook Road before returning to normal line of route at opp Tortoiseshell Way bus stop.
