The Colchester Half Marathon is taking place on Sunday 17th March 2024.

Whilst the marathon is underway, roads will be closed on a rolling basis to permit runners safe passage.

The road closures begin at 8.45am and are scheduled to have ended by 13:00. Please note. road closures may re-open earlier depending on how quickly the runners complete sections of the race.

Due to the location of the rolling road closures all Colchester services will likely experience small delays. To manage delays to service the following diversions will be implemented:

2A 08:30 The 08:30 Osbourne Street departure towards Horkesley will divert after serving Railway Station Layby (Stand Ea) bus stop via the A134 (Northern Approach Rd) before returning to normal line of route at adj Cordelia Drive bus stop. The following bus stops will not be served: Groves Close, Oaks Place, Tall Trees, Mile End Church, Link Close and Boxted Road.
2A 09:00 - 10:30 There will be a rolling road closure on North Station Road, North Hill and Colchester High Street between 09:00 and 10:30. Services (indicated on the left) will divert via Balkerne Hill (in both directions). Passengers will be able to board/disembark services at Osborne Street. Bus stops will not be served on St John's St, Crouch Street, Head Street, and High Street. Please note. if a service meets a rolling road closure before diverting, the road closure will be enforced for 15 minutes before lifting (approximate timings - dependent on road being cleared of runners/pedestrians).
