Changes to timetables from 4 February 2024

To help improve reliability and punctuality throughout Portsmouth, Fareham and Gosport we're making changes to some bus timetables from 4 February 2024.

 

The changes are driven by AI software called Prospective, which makes small adjustments to some service timetables to improve the service. The technology considers road conditions, congestion, and available resource amongst many more factors. By utilising the latest data and AI technology, our network planning experts have created new timetables that reflect real life experience and improve journeys for customers.

 

In addition, in partnership with Portsmouth City Council, additional evening journeys funded by the Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) will be added to Star routes 7 and 8, with a new overnight service introduced on Service 2.

  • New overnight service introduced on all days, operating hourly.
  • Monday to Friday peak time frequency amended to every 11 minutes.
Star 7
  • Additional evening journeys introduced in partnership with Portsmouth City Council,  seven days a week
  • Revised timetable to help improve punctuality.
  • Monday to Friday off-peak frequency will run every 15 minutes, with peak time journeys every 12 minutes.
  • Saturday and Sunday timetables will run every 20 minutes.
Star 8
  • New evening journeys introduced in partnership with Portsmouth City Council, creating four extra journeys a night in each direction. 
Solent Ranger X4/X5
  • New Prospective timetable to aid punctuality. 
Solent 9/9A
  • New Prospective timetable to aid punctuality. 
  • Sunday frequency amended to run every 35 minutes.
