Service 332 | The Street, Steeple | Road closure

A section of The Street, Steeple will be closed for roadworks from Saturday 6th July to Sunday 7th July 2024. 

Due to the location of the road closure, the 332 service will be placed on diversion:

Towards Burnham-on-Crouch

After serving opp The Star bus stop, the 332 service will stop and return back along route and divert via Grange Avenue and Green Lane/Highlands Hill/Foxhall Road before returning to normal line of route. The next bus stop will be o/s Knightswood Court.

Towards Chelmsford

After serving opp Knightswood Court bus stop, the 332 service will divert via Foxhall Road/Highlands Hill/Green Lane, Grange Avenue, Maldon Road and The Street. The service will then pause/turnaround at Garden Fields - resuming normal line of route. The next bus stop will be o/s The Star.

All bus stops will be served as normal - however, the service might be slightly delayed due to length of diversion.

A section of Chelmer Village Way, Chelmsford will be closed (between the Beeleigh Link/Mill Vue Road Roundabout and the Henniker Gate/Kingsford Drive Roundabout) for overnight roadworks from Sunday 7th July to Thursday 11th July 2024.

On Sunday - the road closure will be enforced from 20:00hrs.

Monday to Friday - the road closure will be enforced from 22:00hrs.

Due to the location of the road closure; the 71, X71, 371 and 372 services will be placed on diversion:

Towards Colchester 

The 71, X71, 371 and 372 services will divert, after serving opp Fox & Raven bus stop, via Beeleigh Link, New Dukes Way and Chelmer Village Way. The service will circumnavigate the Henniker Gate/Kingsford Drive Roundabout before returning to normal line of route. The next bus stop will be adj Sheppard Drive.

Towards Chelmsford

The 71, X71, 371 and 372 services will divert, after serving adj Brook End Road, by circumnavigating the Henniker Gate/Kingsford Drive Roundabout and travelling back along Chelmer Village Way, New Dukes Way and Beeleigh Link before returning to normal line of route on Chelmer Village Way (heading towards Army & Navy Roundabout). The next bus stop will be Army & Navy (NW-bound).

The following bus stops will not be served (in both directions):

• Goddard Way
• Pollard's Green
• Shopping Centre
• Henniker Gate

A section of Eastwoodbury Lane, Southend-on-Sea will be closed for roadworks from Monday 8th July to Friday 12th July 2024. The road will be closed from 09:00hrs to 15:00hrs each day.

Due to the location of the road closure, the X30 service will be placed on diversion:

Towards Southend-on-Sea

After serving Kent Elms Corner North (S-bound) bus stop, the X30 service will bypass the B1013 and divert via Prince Avenue (A127) and Rochford Way before returning to normal line of route on Eastwoodbury Crescent - and serving o/s Holiday Inn Southend Airport bus stop.

Towards Chelmsford

After serving opp Holiday Inn Southend Airport bus stop, the X30 service will divert via Eastwoodbury Crescent and Rochford Way before returning to normal line of route on Prince Avenue (A127).

The following bus stop will not be served (in both directions):

Crown Street, Dedham will be closed for daily roadworks from Tuesday 9th July to Thursday 11th July 2024 (starting at 09:30hrs and ending at 14:30hrs each day).

Due to the location of the road closure, the 81/81A service will be placed on diversion:

To Dedham

The following journeys will divert via Ardleigh Road and Long Road West before terminating at Duck Lane, Dedham Heath bus stop. The bus will wait time and then resume journey back to Colchester City Centre*.

For passengers wishing to travel towards Colchester - please board the 81/81A service at Duck Lane, Dedham Heath bus stop.

The following journeys will commence at Duck Lane, Dedham Heath bus stop. The service will then divert via Coggeshall Road, Harwich Road and Dedham Road/Ardleigh Road (B1029) before returning to normal line of route on Birchwood Road.

To divert, after St Johns Street, via Crouch Street, Queen Street, Maldon Road Roundabout, Balkerne Hill and Middleborough before returning to normal line of route. The following bus stops will not be served: Middleborough and Head Street:

Towards Colchester City Centre:

To divert, after North Station Road, via Middleborough, Balkerne Hill, Maldon Road Roundabout, Southway, Headgate and Head Street before returning to normal line of route. The following bus stop will not be served: Middleborough.

*Last journey of the day will be placed on diversion. 19:20 departure from Manningtree Station.

Ronald Road, Halstead will be closed for daily roadworks from Monday 8th July to Tuesday 16th July 2024 (from 09:30hrs to 15:30hrs each day).

Due to the location of the road closure, the 88 service will divert via White Horse Avenue.

Northern Approach Road, Colchester will be closed for roadworks on a nightly basis from Monday 1st July to Saturday 13th July 2024 (between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 (the next morning)).

Services 11, 68, 80/80A, S1 and S2 will be permitted through the road closure. 

However, please note: there may be slight delays to service as the bus might be required to wait for an operative to escort them through the closure.

Station Road, Little Dunmow will be closed for works from Monday 24th June to Friday 12th July 2024.

Due to the location of the road closure, the 570 service will be placed on diversion:

Towards Colchester

Service 570 will divert, after serving Homelye Chase bus stop, via Braintree Road/Dunmow Road (B1256), Braintree Road (B1417) and Station Road before turning onto Tanton Road, Flitch Green. Passengers can board the bus on Tanton Road, Flitch Green. The bus will then continue journey back towards Felsted.

The next bus stop will be Mill Road bus stop.

Towards Great Dunmow

Service 570 will divert, after serving Mill Road bus stop, via Tanton Road, Flitch Green. Passengers can disembark the bus on Tanton Road, Flitch Green. The bus will continue journey back towards Felsted.

The next bus stop will be Homelye Chase bus stop.

The following bus stops will not be served (in both directions):

• Braintree Road
• The Flitch of Bacon
• The Moors
• Bramble Lane
• Baynard Avenue
• Tanton Road (bus stop located on Station Road)

Service update was amended on 26/06/2024 | Reason for amendment: additional detail provided regarding 87 journeys not serving Wivenhoe.

The Avenue, Wivenhoe will be closed on a nightly basis for roadworks; from Monday 1st July to Friday 6th July 2024 - between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 the next morning.

Due to the location of the road closure, the S1, 74B and 87 services will be placed on diversion:

74B (to Clacton-on-Sea) and 87 (to Brightlingsea)

Dugard Avenue, Colchester will be closed for roadworks from Monday 24th June 2024 to Friday 5th July 2024.

Due to the location of the road closure, the 4 service will be placed on diversion:

Towards Stanway

Service 4 will serve bus stops on Straight Road, James Carter Road and Newcastle Avenue before being placed on diversion.

Service 4 will divert (past Dugard Avenue) via Straight Road and London Road (A1124) before circumnavigating roundabout (located by Costa Coffee) and returning back along London road (A1124) and arriving at terminus -  Sainsburys Store (Stand 1). The service will be paused before recommencing at next timetabled departure. The following bus stops will not be served:

Towards Hythe

Service 4 will divert, after serving Church Lane (E-bound) bus stop, via Warren Lane, Maldon Road (B1022), Shrub End Road and Straight Road before returning to normal line of route and serving opp Shillito Close bus stop. The following bus stops will not be served:
