Colchester Shuttles S4 - Frequent into the city from Greenstead

From Sunday 16th April 2023, we're running more frequently from Greenstead, direct into Colchester city centre and home again, seven days a week.

You can catch Colchester Shuttles service S4 from Greenstead, Hythe Tesco, Hythe Hill & Magdalen Street...

  • up to every 8 minutes on Monday to Friday daytimes
  • up to every 10 minutes on Saturday daytimes
  • up to every 20 minutes on Sundays

...meaning you don't have to worry about checking out a timetable before heading to your nearest stop - although we've put links to them below to help you plan your trip.

We run late into the evening too, with a bus every 30 minutes until after 10.30pm on Mondays to Saturdays - great for dinner, drinks, seeing a show or enjoying the latest blockbuster movie.

And, what's more, all single journeys cost a maximum of £2 until 30th June 2023 thanks to the Government's Single Fare Cap scheme.  Simply pay the driver with contactless or cash when you catch the bus, or buy your ticket in advance on the First Bus App.

You can also use your contactless card or device to pay by Tap & Cap on S4 and any of our other Colchester Shuttles buses, with the 1st tap in a day costing £2, the 2nd costing £2 and the 3rd costing just £50p.  And you'll never pay more than £4.50 a day or £18 a week when you pay with Tap & Cap.
